Poetry
TO THE HYPNOTIZED WRITER
Your creations are void and ridiculous and are not against the co-writer but thee..
And the rest of your life, your eyes will have no vision, but only blindness.
The writing world needs appreciation, O Naysayer
No future for thee.. I say...
Thy writing
Is cruel and broken the moral barriers? You, Naysayer
The stones you throw at an innocent human have no bones
Your writing of duotone colours prohibiting thy enthrone
and speaks volumes of thy bozos..
Thy ridiculous
Is the writing terror frightening your co-writer
By wrenching his forty-five-year-old nonstop fruit-yielding
creative trees
Your daring, unquestioned, miserable act will also
put you in the same coffin beside him. Remember...
Now speak, O Naysayer, with the gentle voice, the truth about your literary colleague and thee...
Regain your melted vision and see his stature with thy raised eyes
And speak about his chiseled writing on the walls of history
to tell the world that he is the tallest among this era's writers.
Will you...?
This poem is a scathing critique of a writer, referred to as the "Naysayer," who is accused of being cruel, destructive, and terrorizing towards their literary colleague. The language is rich and evocative, with vivid imagery and metaphors that convey the intensity of the emotions.
The poem's structure and rhythm are well-crafted, with a clear and consistent rhyme scheme and meter. The use of allusions to biblical language and style adds to the poem's sense of gravity and authority.
The central theme of the poem is the destructive power of negative criticism and the importance of acknowledging and appreciating the work of others. The speaker's condemnation of the Naysayer's actions is fierce and uncompromising, with the threat of consequences for their behavior.
The poem also touches on the theme of artistic integrity and the importance of respecting the creative work of others. The image of the "forty-five-year-old nonstop fruit-yielding creative trees" is a powerful metaphor for the writer's body of work, and the Naysayer's destruction of it is a symbol of the devastating impact of negative criticism.
The final lines of the poem, where the speaker asks the Naysayer to "Regain your melted vision and see his stature with thy raised eyes / And speak about his chiseled writing on the walls of history," suggest a glimmer of hope for redemption and a recognition of the colleague's greatness.
Overall, this poem is a powerful exploration of the complexities of creativity, criticism, and artistic integrity, and the ways in which our words and actions can have a profound impact on others.
