Can’t contain the floods of Vayanaadu
in the dry and parched agricultural fields of ours.
Wandering atop the mountain peaks
as elephants
all over God’s Land
The Rain.

Caught in the elephant-trunks of rain
the areca-trees and all vegetation
go scattering.

The highways paved along its trail
and the hutments
are stamped and crushed
by the battalion of rain-tusker

Unable to preserve the heavy imprints of rain-tusker
We are going to leave it into the sea
To float as hippopotamus

The Kerala elephants
are always giants
Of them while bringing some
with the help of Kumki
Losing them in Kabini or Krishnarajasagar
asking for their little ones
We have been begging our
neighbouring States
for the past several years.

That screams for alms
go on reverberating all over the firmament of Tamil Nadu
as summer-thunder unbearable.

Alas _
A post-modern tusker
losing its way
keeps wandering all over facebook these days.
Don’t take it to be a soon to die cloud
and build modern resorts in its trail .



வய நாட்டின் வெள்ளத்தை
எங்களின் காய்ந்த கடைமடை
வயற்காடுகளில்
கட்டிவைக்க முடியவில்லை..
ஒரு யானையென மலைமுகடுகளில்
அலைந்து திரிகிறது
கடவுளின் சொந்த பூமியெங்கும்
மழை..
மழையின் தும்பிக்கைகளில்
சிக்குண்டு சிதறிப்போகின்றன
பாக்குமரங்களும் பச்சையங்களும்..
அதன் வழித்தடத்தில்
வேயப்பட்ட நெடுஞ்சாலைகளை
கூரை வேய்ந்த குடிசைகளை
மிதித்தே உடைத்தெடுக்கின்றன
யானைமழைக் கூட்டம்..
பாய்ந்து வரும் யானைக்கனஅடிகளைத்
தேக்கி வைக்க முடியாமல்
மழையானையை
கடலுக்குள் நீர்யானையாய்
மிதக்கவிடப்போகிறோம்..
கேரளத்தின் யானைகள்
எப்போதுமே பிரமாண்டங்கள்...
அவற்றில் சிலவற்றை
கும்கி உதவியுடன்
கூட்டிவருகையில்
கபினியிலோ கிருஷ்ணராஜ சாகரிலோ
தொலைத்துவிட்டு..
அதன் குட்டிகளைக்கேட்டு
அண்டை மாநிலத்திடம்
சில ஆண்டுகள்
பிச்சையெடுக்கிறோம்..
அந்தப் பிச்சைப் பிளிறல்கள்
சகிக்க முடியாத
கோடையிடிகளாய்
தமிழக வானமெங்கும்
இடித்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கின்றன...

போகட்டும்
ஒரு பின் நவீன கவிதையானை
தன் வழிதவறி
முக நூலெங்கும் அலைந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறது..
அதை மரிக்கப்போகும்
மேகமென நினைத்து
அதன் வழித்தடத்தில்
நவீன விடுதிகளைக் கட்டிவிடாதீர்கள்..
